Employment History



2008-present - Management Consultant and research professional at KnowLimiTs

Kerry works as a freelance consultant to deliver Strategic Learning and Performance Management assignments using Systems Thinking. In partnership with KPMG Consulting she has completed several public sector engagements for the Ministry of Justice and the Police, and independently with the Prisons Service and the Royal National Institute for the Deaf.

She has worked with a number of smaller equestrian businesses including a riding holidays business, a stud farm, a rehabilitation centre and a riding school/livery yard. 

Kerry is very active in the promotion of Systems Thinking techniques in business, sport and education. She shares her knowledge with UK schools through her role as a STEM ambassador.


2018
Kerry is planning PhD research to test her hypothesis that a systems education is beneficial for UK children. She also aims to identify the factors critical to the success of such an intervention. 

She plans to extend her KnowLimiTs offer to develop Education Performance Management (EPM) tools and skills for school leaders.

2017
Kerry developed a business plan and networking strategy to create a Fell Pony Heritage Centre in the Lake District. She is involved in an associated research project to measure the impact of native pony grazing on British upland ecosystems.
 

2016  
Kerry worked on a project with Willy Sidorak to capture and share his knowledge on the raising and rehabilitation of sports horses. Plans are to establishment a European Centre for Excellence in Horse Management. You can read more about this project at http://savingtamtam.blogspot.fr/. 

Kerry also created a new long distance horse riding route in the Haute Vienne area of France. The route is called the Lionheart Ride and connects the castles of Richard's rule in Aquitaine. (The castles on the route can be seen at http://www.routerichardcoeurdelion.com/).

2011-2013
In collaboration with Samsara Equitation, Kerry conducted research on the management of the horse's musculature. Vision was (and still is) to stimulate debate and help educate the horse world on this important topic. Several articles published in UK magazines.

2005-2007
Research on the application of Systems Thinking to improve the training of horses and riders. Findings published in a book “Riding Dynamics” released October 2007 (see www.ridingdynamics.blogspot.com).
